His initial summons was issued on April 8, and his testimony will be recorded under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act.

Vadra condemned the investigation as a “political vendetta by the BJP” and described it as a “witch hunt.” He asserted his willingness to cooperate, stating, “Whenever I raise the people’s voice, they try to suppress me. I have nothing to hide. They can ask me whatever they want and I’ll answer them.” His march towards the ED was supported by Congress supporters, who chanted slogans criticizing Prime Minister Modi.

The case against Vadra involves the acquisition of land by his company, Skylight Hospitality, in 2008 for Rs 7.5 crore. After obtaining a development permit, the land’s value significantly increased, allowing him to sell it to DLF for Rs 58 crore. The transaction has drawn accusations from the BJP of land misuse during the tenure of then Chief Minister Bhupinder Hooda, a charge he has denied, claiming no government land was given to Vadra.

Additionally, Vadra hinted at a potential foray into politics, noted his previous discussions surrounding a candidacy in Amethi, which was once held by Rahul Gandhi. He expressed frustration with being drawn into political narratives, saying, “My association with politics is only because I am a member of the Gandhi family. Many parties have used my name to distract from issues.”
