Daljit Singh, a Noida man, lost Rs 6.3 crore while trying to find love on a dating app. He was manipulated by a woman named Anita, who convinced him to invest based on false promises of profit. After multiple transactions, Singh’s attempts to withdraw funds revealed a scam, prompting a police investigation into the case.

Daljit Singh, a divorcee based in Noida, lost his life savings amounting to Rs 6.3 crore while seeking love through a dating app. After matching with a woman named Anita, who presented herself as trustworthy, Singh became entangled in what he believed was a profitable investment scheme that ultimately led to significant financial loss.

In December, Singh engaged in conversations with Anita, who claimed to be from Hyderabad. Their interactions evolved from casual exchanges to deeper connections, and as trust built, Anita suggested several investment opportunities. Singh made initial investments that seemed profitable, encouraging further financial commitments from him.

Initially investing Rs 3.2 lakh on her advice, Singh experienced a quick return of Rs 24,000, boosting his confidence in Anita’s recommendations. This led him to transfer about Rs 4.5 crore from his savings and take out a loan of Rs 2 crore for additional investments. His total transfers amounted to Rs 6.5 crore across multiple transactions to various accounts.

Suspicion arose when Singh attempted to withdraw money, only to be informed of a need to pay an additional 30 percent fee. Following his refusal, he lost contact with Anita, and two of the investment websites became inactive. Disturbed by these developments, Singh reported the incident to the Cyber Police in Noida.

Daljit Singh’s experience exemplifies the risks associated with online relationships and investment scams. His story reveals how trust can be exploited, leading to substantial financial loss. Authorities are now investigating the fraudulent schemes that manipulated him, highlighting the importance of vigilance and verification in online dealings.
