Expected Rainy Weather in Uzbekistan: March Forecast and Implications

Uzbekistan is set for rainy weather this week, with significant rainfall expected across most regions. After a dry spell, cool and humid air is moving in, leading to wind and thunderstorm conditions. Mountainous areas face risks of mudflows and avalanches due to heavy precipitation.
Uzbekistan is expected to experience rainy weather throughout the week, according to the Uzhydromet agency. After a prolonged dry spell with daytime temperatures reaching +27 to +32 degrees Celsius, cooler and humid air began moving into the western regions on March 23, bringing significant rain to areas like Karakalpakstan, Khorezm, and Navoi.
Starting Monday, this humid air will expand across Uzbekistan, resulting in widespread rainfall, potentially heavy in some locales, along with thunderstorms. Winds may intensify, reaching speeds of 15 to 20 meters per second, while air temperatures will range from +12 to +15 degrees Celsius.
Rainfall will likely continue through the week in several regions, with lower chances in Karakalpakstan, Khorezm, Bukhara, and Navoi from March 26 to 28. Overnight temperatures will drop to +4 to +6 degrees, with daytime temperatures between +8 and +13 degrees, and possible mountain precipitation.
In mountainous areas, heavy rainfall and even snow are projected, raising concerns for mudflows and flooding. Additionally, the risk of avalanches in these regions is heightened between March 24 and 25.
In Tashkent, rain is forecasted for March 24, with winds of 3 to 8 meters per second, increasing to 10 to 12 meters per second. Temperatures will be between +15 and +17 degrees. March 25 will see similar conditions, with a nighttime range of +6 to +8 degrees and daytime reaching +12 to +14 degrees.
From March 26 to 27, Tashkent can expect intermittent rain, with winds sustained at 5 to 10 meters per second, and temperatures maintaining overnight lows of +4 to +6 degrees and daytime highs of +8 to +10 degrees.
Uzbekistan will face a week of rain and unstable weather, with potential hazards in mountainous regions including mudflows and avalanches. The initial dry spell has given way to cooler, humid conditions with pronounced precipitation across various regions, while Tashkent expects consistent rain and mild temperatures throughout the period.
