Following the deal, the newly freed Russian soldiers will remain in Belarus while they wait for further transit back to Russia. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky referred to the event as one of the largest prisoner exchanges to date, confirming the return of 175 detainees, including 22 who were brought back through different means apart from direct exchanges.
