Wife Plots Husband’s Murder Using Deception and Drug Influence

Muskaan Rastogi plotted her husband Saurabh Rajput’s murder with her boyfriend Sahil Shukla by manipulating him into believing his dead mother was communicating with him via Snapchat. The murder was premeditated, involving steps like purchasing knives and sedatives. After killing Saurabh, they attempted to cover up the crime but were later arrested after his family grew suspicious of his absence.

The murder of Merchant Navy officer Saurabh Rajput in Meerut involved a planned conspiracy by his wife, Muskaan Rastogi, and her lover, Sahil Shukla. Authorities revealed that Muskaan convinced Sahil that his deceased mother was communicating with him through Snapchat, which she used to manipulate him into participating in the murder. This heinous act was premeditated, with Muskaan purchasing knives and seeking medication to incapacitate Saurabh before executing the plan on March 4.

Muskaan’s family disclosed her regular drug use with Sahil, indicating that Saurabh’s presence threatened their drug activities. Superintendent of Police Ayush Vikram Singh reported that, following their decision to murder Saurabh, Muskaan searched for burial locations, disguising her true intent under the pretense of needing to bury items used in a puja.

With Saurabh expected home in February for their daughter’s birthday, Muskaan prepared meticulously. She bought knives, feigned anxiety to obtain sedatives, and attempted to drug Saurabh on February 25. However, he did not consume the tainted alcohol, leading Muskaan and Sahil to fatally stab him on March 4 after successfully drugging him.

Saurabh had a strained relationship with his family after marrying Muskaan against their wishes, which made it easier for her to fabricate stories post-murder. She falsely claimed he traveled to a hill station and even traveled with Sahil to Manali, using his phone to assert her alibi.

Suspicion arose when Saurabh’s family noticed his lack of communication, prompting them to file a police report. Muskaan and Sahil were apprehended upon their return from Manali, where she admitted to her parents about the murder. Evidence of Sahil’s involvement with drugs was also uncovered in his rented home, indicating a potential drug culture.

The case underscores the depths of betrayal and manipulation within personal relationships. Muskaan Rastogi orchestrated her husband’s murder utilizing deception, drug influence, and a deeply planned scheme that tragically ended in violence.
