Massive Drone Attack Targets Moscow: Over 60 Ukrainian Drones Shot Down

Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin announced that over 60 Ukrainian drones were intercepted in a major attack on the city. The attack caused minimal damage and no casualties, leading to flight restrictions at local airports. This incident marks one of the largest drone attacks on Moscow in recent months, occurring during U.S.-Ukraine negotiations.
On Tuesday morning, Moscow experienced a significant drone attack, with at least 60 Ukrainian drones intercepted, as reported by Mayor Sergei Sobyanin. The attack resulted in the downing of at least 11 drones in the Ramensky and Domodedovo districts, though the mayor did not disclose the locations of the other drones, indicating they were heading toward Moscow.
As a precautionary measure, flight operations were restricted at both Domodedovo and Zhukovsky airports in Moscow. Fortunately, no casualties have been reported from this incident; however, there was some minor damage observed on a building’s roof, according to Sobyanin’s online statement.
This drone assault, described as the largest targeting Moscow in several months, coincided with ongoing U.S.-Ukraine negotiations taking place in Saudi Arabia.
The recent drone attack on Moscow highlights escalating tensions, with over 60 Ukrainian drones targeted and significant military responses taking place. No major injuries resulted from the incident, although it did affect local air traffic and caused minor structural damage. This escalation is further compounded by its timing, coinciding with critical diplomatic discussions between U.S. and Ukraine officials.
