On Monday, Afan murdered his grandmother, uncle, aunt, and younger brother across three residences in Venjaramoodu, near Thiruvananthapuram, before attempting to kill his mother and ultimately surrendering to the police. After attacking his mother, who survived, Afan first killed his grandmother, stealing a gold necklace from her, then proceeded to murder his uncle and aunt.
