On April 11, two men from Telangana, Ashtapu Premsagar and Srinivas, were killed in Dubai, allegedly by a Pakistani national who shouted religious slogans during the attack at a bakery where they worked. Premsagar, 35, from Soan village in Nirmal district, had been employed at the bakery for five to six years and was last home two years ago. He leaves behind his wife and two children, and his uncle has requested government assistance to repatriate his body to India due to the family’s financial difficulties.

Union Minister G Kishan Reddy confirmed the identities of the men and reported that another individual, Sagar, was injured during the attack and is hospitalized. He has reached out to External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar for help with the repatriation of the deceased. Reddy expressed his grief over the brutal incident, noting that Jaishankar has assured the families of full support.

In response to the attack, Union Minister of State for Home Bandi Sanjay Kumar indicated that he is coordinating with the Ministry of External Affairs to ensure justice is served. He labeled the killings as tragic and highlighted that efforts are underway to expedite police investigations in Dubai, urging the Dubai police through the Indian consulate to act swiftly. The external affairs ministry is committed to providing necessary support for the victims’ families during this difficult time.
