During the incident around 7 p.m. local time, witnesses reported that at least four armed suspects confronted Sullivan and forced him into his own vehicle before fleeing the scene. Capt. Andre Beetge confirmed that the stolen vehicle, a silver Toyota 4Runner, was discovered abandoned shortly after the kidnapping. The police have since activated a multidisciplinary task team to follow leads in the search for Sullivan and the capture of the suspects.
Although specific details regarding Sullivan’s nationality were initially withheld by the police, he has been identified by his church as their pastor. His mother, Tonya Rinker, has confirmed his abduction, expressing her trust in faith amid the crisis.
