The police have registered a case under multiple provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) related to gang rape and criminal intimidation. As of now, 12 of the 23 suspects have been arrested, including individuals identified as Raj Vishwakarma, Sameer, Ayush, and others. The investigation reveals a disturbing pattern of drugging and repeated assaults across various locations, including hotels.

Details from the investigation indicate that on March 29, the survivor was taken to a cafe by Raj Vishwakarma, where she was assaulted. The following day, another individual named Sameer forcibly took her on a motorcycle, leading to further abuse. Subsequent encounters involved a group of men who drugged her and took turns raping her at different venues.

The survivor faced continuous trauma, with one incident on April 1 where she was assaulted in a hotel. A man named Imran also raped her after intoxicating her, and she endured harassment for days until finally returning home on April 4, where she disclosed her ordeal to her family.

In response to this case, Prime Minister Modi received a comprehensive brief from local officials. He instructed law enforcement to pursue the harshest penalties for the offenders and emphasized the importance of preventive measures to avert similar incidents in the future.
