The IMD predicts continued rain, thunderstorms, lightning, and strong winds affecting central and eastern India until Monday. Following recent severe heat waves that resulted in fatalities, the IMD indicated an expectation of above-normal temperatures across the country in April, foreshadowing a hotter summer ahead.
