Uttar Pradesh Man Fears for Life After Discovering Wife’s Affair
A man in Uttar Pradesh reported to police that his wife is having an affair and threatened him with murder. Following his discovery of her relationship with local councillor Abhishek Pathak, he expressed concerns about his family’s safety. Pawan detailed the incident to authorities and captured a video, while an investigation into the matter has been launched.
In Uttar Pradesh’s Jhansi district, a man, Pawan, reported to the police that he discovered his wife, Ritu Verma, engaged in an affair with local councillor Abhishek Pathak inside their home. Fearing for his life after this incident, he expressed that he can no longer live with his wife due to concerns about potential harm to himself and their six-year-old son.
Pawan, employed at the health department in Mahoba, stated that he has been living apart from Ritu and their son since learning of the affair. After confronting the councillor at their house, he alleged that Pathak threatened both residents and law enforcement.
During his police statement, Pawan articulated his fears, saying, “I can’t live with my wife because she can kill me and my son. She can serve poisoned tea to us. It is possible our bodies would be found inside a drum.” His comments referenced a notorious murder case where a man’s remains were dismembered and concealed in a drum.
In a video he recorded, Pawan outlined how he first caught Ritu chatting with another man. Despite his attempts to resolve the issue, she reportedly reacted defiantly, saying, “my body is my choice, I can do whatever I want, who are you to stop me?”
Last night, after video calling his son, Pawan felt someone else was present during the call, raising further suspicions about Ritu’s interactions. When Pawan phoned the police to address the situation, officers arrived to confront Pathak as he exited the house, amid disturbances that caught the attention of neighbors.
The police have acknowledged the viral video showcasing the incident and have initiated an investigation into the matter. Officer Ramveer Singh confirmed that they responded promptly after the information was relayed through their helpline.
The situation highlights escalating domestic tensions stemming from infidelity and the potential for violence, as illustrated by Pawan’s fears for himself and his son. The police response signifies the seriousness of the claims, especially given the historical context of violent domestic incidents in the region.
