Furthermore, Trump emphasized that several countries would soon follow suit in reducing their tariffs, as they have been imposing what he deemed as unfair tariffs on U.S. goods. White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt noted ongoing unfair trade practices faced by the U.S., citing specific examples of high tariffs from the European Union, Japan, and Canada.
Leavitt stated, “We have 50% (tariff) from the European Union on American dairy and a 700% tariff from Japan on American rice.
