His arrest was executed by the Delhi Police in Ghaziabad following a rejected bail application submitted to the Delhi High Court. On March 30, 2024, the police apprehended him based on intelligence and technical surveillance.
The case involves a 28-year-old woman from a small town, who claims Mishra raped her repeatedly over four years. The woman, aspiring to be an actress, stated they had a live-in relationship in Mumbai, where he pressured her into three abortions. She accused him of breaking a marriage promise as well.
The Delhi Police stated that an FIR was filed on March 6, 2024, against Mishra under various sections, including rape and assault. Additionally, she provided a statement under Section 164 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) to back her allegations. Medical evidence regarding the abortions was obtained from Muzaffarnagar.
The triggering incident occurred on February 18, 2025, when Mishra allegedly took the woman to Hotel Shiva in Nabi Karim. During this visit, he reportedly had sexual relations with her before abandoning her, prompting her to contact law enforcement. His arrest comes after the Delhi High Court previously reviewed and denied his bail application.
