The region faced a devastating earthquake that caused substantial destruction in Myanmar and neighboring Thailand. Reports indicate that at least 144 fatalities occurred in Myanmar, with significant infrastructural damage noted in several cities. In Thailand, particularly in the capital, at least 10 individuals lost their lives due to the collapse of a high-rise building under construction.
