Uzbekistan Launches Unified Emergency Number 112 Nationwide

Uzbekistan has successfully launched its unified emergency number 112, combining various hotlines into one service. This fully operational system streamlines emergency responses across the country, and existing emergency numbers will remain active temporarily. The launch was first announced in July 2023, with services expanding throughout the year.

Uzbekistan has launched its unified dispatch service, 112, which is now operational across all regions. This service consolidates various emergency hotlines from ministries including Interior, Emergency Situations, Health, Social Protection, and the gas operating company. Previously, these services had separate numbers, improving efficiency through integration.

Sherzod Akhmatov, spokesperson for the Ministry of Digital Technologies, confirmed the successful implementation of the 112 system, noting that it is fully functional nationwide. The platform allows for streamlined processing of emergency calls and coordination of responses across multiple departments.

Akhmatov stated that existing emergency numbers—101 (fire), 102 (police), 103 (ambulance), and 104 (gas)—will still be operational temporarily to ensure a smooth transition. The initiative to create a unified emergency number was announced in July 2023.

According to a decree issued in May 2024, the rollout began in Tashkent and its surrounding area on June 1, with plans for expansion to Karakalpakstan and additional regions by the end of 2024, enhancing national emergency response capabilities.

The introduction of the 112 emergency dispatch service in Uzbekistan marks a significant advancement in emergency response and communication. By integrating multiple emergency hotlines into one system, the initiative promises enhanced coordination and efficiency. Existing emergency numbers will remain active until the public fully adapts to the new system, ensuring safety and accessibility during this transition.
