A cut-throat razor was ultimately used to sever Saurabh’s head from his body, indicating her uncertainty in handling knives.
Muskaan and her lover, Sahil Shukla, have been arrested for the murder on the night of March 3. Following the murder, Saurabh’s body was dismembered into 15 pieces, placed in a plastic drum, and buried under cement. The grisly discovery was made after Muskaan confessed to her parents, prompting them to report to the police. Saurabh’s family had previously filed a missing person report.
The investigation has unveiled a plot steeped in addiction and betrayal. Muskaan and Sahil were involved in drug use and were concerned that Saurabh might intervene. Despite knowing about their affair, Saurabh contemplated divorce primarily for the sake of their six-year-old daughter. He was in Meerut visiting for his daughter’s birthday.

On the night of the murder, Muskaan drugged Saurabh with sleeping pills. After he fell asleep, she stabbed him three times with a knife and used a razor to slit his throat. Sahil then severed the head with a knife. The two collaborators dismembered the body, placed the pieces in a drum, and sealed it with cement.
Initially, their plan involved burying Saurabh’s remains and planting a sapling over them. However, they opted to use cement to eliminate odor concerns. Unfortunately, they failed to consider the weight of the drum, making it impossible for laborers they hired to dispose of it, leading to Muskaan’s eventual confession.
