Ukraine and U.S. delegations are set to meet in Saudi Arabia on March 25, 2025, to discuss a ceasefire proposal following recent Russia-U.S. negotiations. President Zelenskyy acknowledged further meetings are due, while ongoing military actions between Ukraine and Russia persist, highlighting the complexity of the situation. Territorial and energy concerns are also crucial topics under discussion.

On March 25, 2025, Ukrainian and U.S. delegations will convene in Saudi Arabia for discussions following recent negotiations between Russia and the U.S. regarding a ceasefire proposal in the ongoing Ukraine conflict. This information was reported by Ukraine’s national broadcaster, Suspilne, citing an unnamed source within the Ukrainian delegation.

The Ukrainian team is expected to remain in Saudi Arabia for an additional day to continue dialogues with U.S. representatives. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy indicated in his recent address that more meetings between Ukrainian and U.S. officials are anticipated but did not disclose specific dates.

Previously, U.S. negotiators engaged with Russian representatives on a potential partial ceasefire on March 24, 2025, after separate discussions with Kyiv. U.S. President Donald Trump mentioned in a press briefing that territorial disputes and the possibility of U.S. ownership of a significant nuclear power plant in southern Ukraine have been topics of these negotiations.

Despite diplomatic efforts, hostilities continued as both countries conducted missile strikes across their borders. The Russian Defence Ministry reported that a Ukrainian drone attempted to attack an oil pumping station in southern Russia but was intercepted before it could cause damage.

This ongoing conflict, now entering its third year, has prompted extensive discussions involving multiple parties as they seek a resolution.

The upcoming meeting between Ukrainian and U.S. delegations in Saudi Arabia signals a continued effort towards achieving a ceasefire amidst ongoing hostilities in the Ukraine conflict. Key discussions involving territorial issues and U.S. interests in Ukraine’s energy sector are pivotal in shaping potential agreements. While diplomatic engagements progress, military confrontations remain a pressing reality.
