An Indian-origin man, Pradipkumar Patel, aged 56, and his daughter were tragically shot dead while working in a convenience store in Accomack County, Virginia. This incident has significantly impacted the Indian community in the region, prompting shock and condolences. The shooting occurred around 5:30 am on March 20, as confirmed by the county sheriff’s office.

Upon arrival, authorities found Patel suffering from gunshot wounds and unresponsive, while his daughter was also discovered with fatal injuries. Despite being transported to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, she later died due to her wounds.

In response to the tragedy, police arrested George Frazier Devon White, a 44-year-old man from Onancock. He is currently held without bond, charged with first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder, and other firearm-related offenses. No motive has been disclosed for the shooting as of now.

Store owner Paresh Patel expressed his anguish regarding the incident, stating, “My cousin’s wife and her dad were working this morning and some guy come here and they just shot. I don’t know what to do,” illustrating the devastating impact on the family and the community.
