Satish Maneshinde, Rhea Chakraborty’s lawyer, thanked the CBI for its closure report in Sushant Singh Rajput’s death case. He condemned the false narratives in media, which he believes caused significant distress to Rhea, who spent time in jail unjustly. The CBI’s findings cleared Rhea and her family of accusations. The report now awaits approval from a special court in Mumbai.
Rhea Chakraborty’s lawyer, Satish Maneshinde, expressed gratitude to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) after it submitted a closure report regarding Sushant Singh Rajput’s death case. Maneshinde, a prominent lawyer at the Bombay High Court, noted that the CBI conducted a comprehensive investigation into the circumstances surrounding the case, leading to its closure.
He attributed the hardships faced by Rhea Chakraborty, who spent 27 days in jail, to a misleading social media narrative. Maneshinde maintained that she was innocent and emphasized that the media’s portrayal contributed significantly to her distress. The CBI’s report, presented before a special court in Mumbai, cleared Rhea Chakraborty and her family of any wrongdoing listed in prior first information reports (FIRs).
Rajput was discovered deceased in his Mumbai residence on June 14, 2020, at the age of 34. The CBI took charge of the investigation from the Bihar Police following an abetment to suicide complaint by Rajput’s father. Clinical evaluations by AIIMS forensic scientists dismissed any notions of poisoning or strangulation.
Emphasizing the overwhelming misinformation prevalent in media, Maneshinde commented on how the lockdown period led to increased media attention on the case. He condemned the treatment Rhea faced, revealing that her resilience during this challenging time has been commendable. He acknowledged her family’s silent suffering amid the public scrutiny.
Additionally, Maneshinde shared his pride in representing a military family pro bono and expressed gratitude to supportive media outlets. Throughout the investigation, the CBI collected testimonies from individuals close to Rajput and examined his medical history. In his initial complaint, Rajput’s father had accused Rhea and her family of financial misconduct, an allegation she has consistently denied.
The closure report filed by the CBI in the Sushant Singh Rajput case concludes that Rhea Chakraborty and her family are absolved of any alleged wrongdoing. The investigation highlighted the detrimental impact of misinformation on both Rhea’s life and the legal process, ultimately revolving around public scrutiny and media narratives. Maneshinde’s remarks underscore the importance of accurate reporting and support in matters of justice.
