In Saudi Arabia, civil defense teams confirmed the discovery of a deceased individual, following the rescue of three others from a vehicle submerged in floodwaters. The incident occurred in a wadi (valley) east of the Tanomah governorate during torrential rains. The group of four was traveling in a GMC when floodwaters engulfed the vehicle. While the three survivors are reported safe, rescuers later located the body of the missing person in the Wadi Tarj Dam in Tanuma.

Thunderstorms are forecast across several regions in Saudi Arabia, projected to last until Sunday. The Saudi National Centre for Meteorology (NCM) has issued warnings for moderate-to-heavy rains, particularly in the Mecca region, which is expected to face severe weather conditions. Areas including Medina, Al Baha, Asir, Jizan, Najran, Al Qassim, Riyadh, and the Eastern Province are also on alert for potential flooding, hail, and strong winds, according to the NCM’s weather report.

As forecasted, heavy rain and thunderstorms will particularly affect Taif and the Medina region on Thursday and Friday. The Eastern Province is expected to experience its most intense rainfall Friday and Saturday, highlighting the need for caution in these areas due to potential flooding and hazardous conditions.
