Joshua Riibe has acknowledged being with Sudiksha on the night she vanished. Reports from NBC News indicate he recounted an incident where they were in waist-deep water and were swept out to sea by a strong wave. Mr. Riibe described his attempt to keep her afloat, noting that he struggled with seawater intake during his efforts to return to shore. Eventually, he lost sight of her after setting her before him in shallower water and becoming incapacitated briefly.
