CCTV footage reveals the victim, Haris alias Katta, interacting with another man outside his home around 3:15 AM. As they wait for their meal, two motorcycles approach, and Haris attempts to defend himself upon noticing the armed pillion rider. Despite his efforts, he was shot multiple times, leading to a frantic departure by his companion.
The other shooter dismounted his bike and, after fumbling with a jammed gun, inflicted further fatal shots before the assailants fled the scene. Onlookers reported the attack, and law enforcement is investigating the motive behind the shooting, with initial indications pointing towards a personal vendetta.
Assistant Superintendent of Police Mayank Pathak confirmed that they received reports of the incident around 3:30 AM, leading to Haris’s immediate transfer to the hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. A formal case has been initiated as investigations continue.
A relative of Haris, Shoaib, described their relationship, asserting that there was no known enmity and labeling the attackers as criminals.
