The police confirmed that a man was detained for rape and another for molestation, stating, “A man was arrested on charges of rape with a British woman in a Mahipalpur hotel in Delhi. His accomplice was arrested on charges of molestation.” The UK Foreign Office indicated support for the affected woman and is liaising with local authorities.

This incident follows another reported case of rape involving an Israeli and an Indian woman in Karnataka, underscoring the ongoing issue of sexual violence in India. The National Crime Records Bureau documented over 31,000 rape cases in 2022, reflecting a 20% rise from the previous year.
