In Sitapur, Uttar Pradesh, a father has been arrested for the horrific murder of his five-year-old daughter, Tani. The alleged crime involved strangling Tani and dismembering her body into four parts. The motive stemmed from the father’s anger over Tani visiting their neighbors, stemming from a prior family dispute.
Police received reports of Tani missing on February 25, prompting the formation of four investigative teams. They later discovered body parts during the search, which confirmed the suspicion of murder. Additional Superintendent of Police Pravin Ranjan Singh stated that inquiries revealed the father had vanished after the child went missing, raising suspicions.
When Mohit resurfaced, he confessed to the crime, explaining the underlying tensions. According to him, the two families had previously been close but had recently quarreled, leading to his insistence that Tani avoid visiting the neighbor. However, upon seeing her return from their home, he succumbed to rage and took drastic measures.
On the day of the incident, Mohit stated he forced Tani onto his bike, drove her to an isolated area, and then choked her with her clothes. Following this, he disposed of her body in a mustard field. In total, over 100 individuals were interrogated during the investigation, leading to Mohit’s arrest.
