The crime unfolded when the assailants, described as being in their late twenties, threatened the cousins with a knife. They forced both individuals to engage in an indecent act, capturing the incident on their phone, prior to raping the woman. After the assault, the attackers stole the woman’s gold jewelry, including her nose ring and pendant, before escaping.
Following the assault, the traumatized woman managed to contact the police through emergency services. Officers promptly responded, gathering details about the perpetrators and initiating a manhunt based on the woman’s descriptions. Within hours, the suspects were apprehended, with their identities verified and the stolen jewelry recovered.
Police Inspector Mahadev Waghmode detailed the swift response of law enforcement, stating that the crime team quickly registered a complaint and utilized human intelligence to locate the suspects. The arrested men have been placed in custody until March 7, following legal procedures.
